March 2012

Eva Brooke had her 18 month checkup on 3/1/12.  She was 24 lb 15 oz and 34.5 inches tall.  Still around 50th percentile for weight and 97th percentile for height.  She threw one niiiice fit this visit!  (Sorry about that, Dr. Robertson.)

Since she had to get shots at the doctor, afterwards I let her get into some down-and-dirty fun.

Did anyone try the broom trick?  It worked on the evening of March 2, but I have tried it in the garage since and could not get it to stand!

Oh, how Saturday mornings have changed.  Little munchkin hasn't yet learned that we like to sleep late!

Carrying the dishwasher basket around like a purse.

Sneaking little Easter cakes from the pantry!

I love this girl, messy shirt and all.

Isn't it fun to see how they play?

She likes to play in mommy's makeup

She is a big writer now, and mostly uses her right hand.

Bible class friends:  Eva Brooke, Zac, Charlie, Hunter, Foster, and Carrington.

She loves watching the birds and squirrels through the windows.

Well, she found my Starbucks mocha.  Thank goodness it was cool.

Eva Brooke is still a book-lover.  Her favorite question:  "dat, mama?"

What does a skunk smell like??

What does a monkey say??

This drumming thing must be genetic!  She loves them!

A hospital friend sent Eva Brooke her first ring pop.  She is usually tired of a sucker in a minute or two, but she held on to this for a while!  She is a little too generous with her foods at times.

"Hi, Daddy!"

My star

Take note of this before shot of the kids' table and chairs given to us by Mimi and Pop (it was Beth's, I think).

We have super-sweet neighbors to our right, the Fagans.  Annelise asked Eva Brooke if she would like to come play in her yard.  Annelise's sister, Alice, was born the same day as Eva Brooke!

Isn't this the sweetest thing?

EB really enjoyed playing in their little house.

Mid-March started our first nice weather.  We were outside a lot, and a couple of ant bites made Eva Brooke's foot swell terribly.  Thanks to Dr. Brad, it only lasted a few days.

Eva Brooke's FAVORITE movie is Veggietales' Sweetpea Beauty, given to her by Aunt Beth.  We found EB her very own Sweetpea doll, and she has held onto her ever so tightly!

She loves, loves, loves her "pappow" (pillow).

My big girl sitting on her potty.  (Nope, we're still a looong way from potty-trained.)

She likes to open the cabinet door and sit down.

My attempt at some Springtime shots.

I love those curls.

Well, I didn't get the exact shot I was wanting... but when this starts, it's over.

These sleeping shots are some of my favorite.

Playing for the first time on our church playground

Eva Brooke is suddenly interesting in feeding herself.

It is truly amazing how fast children learn.

EB likes to play like she's talking on the phone, but she will rarely say a word to anyone!

Happy Birthday, Andrew!  My man is 29!  I didn't think it was possible, but I love him more and more every year.  Thank you, Andrew, for being a wonderful Daddy, my best friend, and the man of my dreams.

His request was a Mexican fiesta and key lime pie!

In case you ever wondered, Peppers charges over $43 for a key lime pie!  So... I made one myself, and it was pretty yummy.  The homemade whipped cream was the best part, and it was easy!

Always busy, busy.

Momma Lin spoils EB pretty often when she babysits with sporadic trips to Kroger for ice cream, peppermints, etc.  This girl likes her special treats and truly adores her Momma Lin!

Eva Brooke eats her imaginary "yo-yo" (yogurt) at her new playroom table.

I think the table turned out cute...

...but the girl is even cuter!

Playday with Emily and Hunter!  It's interesting how much preparation is required to just go take a walk!

Eva Brooke enjoyed playing on their awesome swingset!

Eva Brooke got a little distracted while decorating her Easter cards.  We have entered the sticker-loving era.

Watching the "beeeees" in the azaleas.

Watching some tv in this classic EB position.

How much can you possibly get in a blow-up duckie bathtub?!  She is really too big for the duck, but she doesn't like baths in the big bathtub.

She picked out these pants after her bath and tried to get them on by herself.

EB's carseat game.  "Mama, hands?  Where'd dey go?"
