Eva Brooke's 2nd Birthday

We had Eva Brooke's 2nd birthday party at our house on her actual birthday, Saturday, August 11th.  I wasn't sure how "into" her party she would be.  She was TOTALLY into everyone coming to "Brooke's house" and also into blowing out her candles.  She would give me that sweet surprise-gasp when I told her there would be balloons and presents.  She woke up on birthday morning with a smile on her face!

Andrew had heard on the radio that Bob and Larry from the Veggie Tales were coming to Lifeway that Saturday morning.  We asked EB if she wanted to go, and she was by the door waiting with her purse.

EB was really excited to see the Chic-fil-A cow there as well!

For a little birthday lunch, we took Eva Brooke to Cracker Barrel.  While waiting on our table, we played in the gift shop.  Mimi just happened to already have those cupcakes all wrapped up for EB's party :-)

EB even got her very own birthday dessert!

We had the very best waiter that day (pictured on the left).  He really made our lunch and visit special.  I love Eva Brooke's hand-over-mouth response.  I thought she might cry when they sang, but she liked that attention!

During EB's afternoon nap, we put the finishing touches on the party decor.  A big thanks to Angie, Momma Lin, and Mimi for all their help decorating, finding supplies, and babysitting.

IT'S PARTY TIME!  Come on in!

We had a great turn-out, and we were soooo thrilled!

On the menu:  Pizza and veggies.  Tea, water, or pink lemonade.  Gigi's cupcakes, 3 flavors of homemade ice cream, and various toppings.  Cheese straws and lots of candy!

Love my crazy Andrew and that he never really grew up! :-)  Love that he helps out so much and puts up with me!

Sitting at our dining room table that was moved in the day before party!  Pictures hung about 15 minutes prior (thanks, Momma Lin!).  Also notice the lovely draperies custom made by talented Aunt Deb.

She blew it out by herself!

Andrew's Mommaw Brown and my Grandmother Fleeta.  I told them that without them, not many of us would have been there!

My goal this year was to have EVERYTHING done ahead of time and to enjoy the party with everyone else.  Success!

With Momma Lin, who constructed her beautiful outfit!  Thanks to Mimi for putting the ice cream cone on front.  So thankful for our very generous and talented family!

Didn't plan it, but the party moved outside thanks to some WONDERFUL weather that August evening.

Don't know how many of the party folks know it, but when we went outside, Eva Brooke came to me saying "tummy hurt."  That girl threw up (for the very first time in her life) at her 2nd birthday party.  I was so scared we were infecting everyone with some kind of virus, but thankfully it was just a combination of very little dinner and too much sugar and excitement!  After an outfit change, she was begging to come back out and play.

Back inside for the gifts

Hunter was really wanting to open that Little People garage.  If you'll just wait about 3 more weeks, you just might be getting one, too :-)

As our sweet neighbor friends were leaving, I kept hearing kiddos playing.  I looked out to see them "sword-fighting" with the ice cream cones (balloons) outside.  Just love it!

Pop was so nice to unpack and untie all those new toys.

Momma Lin and Daddy Don got EB her very own waterpark (which is really cool)!

Pop and Mimi gave EB an easel, which is our new living room decoration!  So nice (and already put together)!  Thanks to all who came and celebrated.  Thanks for making this day so very special!  Love my oh-so-precious two-year-old! :-)
