9 Months

Eva Brooke had her 9 month checkup back on May 26.  She weighed 19 pounds 4 ounces (50th percentile) and was 30 inches tall (97th percentile).  She is tall, slim, and perfectly healthy!

At this visit, we were still having problems with Eva Brooke's eye.  Her tear duct on the right side has been clogged since birth (picture below).  Her eye was runny and weepy and often matted in the mornings.  We had an appointment with an ophthalmologist on June 8.  I know I had been praying more often and more sincerely, because I definitely wanted to avoid surgery (and anesthesia).  My job has been to massage the inside of her eye, which I've done for 9 months now.  Most cases of this resolve on their own by six months, but chances are much lower after this age.  The week of our appointment, I noticed I did not have to wipe her eye or "squish" it out very often.  Her tear film was still a little heavier in the right eye that day.  Since that time, it has been just almost normal!  Answered prayer, I truly believe!

Our portrait package did not have a 9 month session, so I just decided to make some pictures myself.  Andrew offered to take us to Ballard Park one Saturday to get a snowcone.  I do not think he intended to have a photo shoot, but he was a good sport.  At the end of it all, neither of us had any cash to get a snowcone :(  Oh well, Sonic takes debit cards!  Yummy!

Eva Brooke's first SUCKER!  She loved loved loved it!

Love that little red mouth

Couldn't get enough!

Adios!
