August 2011

8/1- For the umpteenth time, Eva Brooke LOVES to be outside

Likes to carry around big things, like the (empty) watering can.

Eva Brooke was a good eater back in August.  She would try just about anything and still had 5 teeth.

Under the table - a good place to play and do her business

She knows she is not supposed to be over there!

8/2- Her hair is growing, but it is still primarily right down the middle.

8/3/11-  EB's first taste of whole milk.  I bribed her to try by drinking out of a regular straw.

She had no trouble transitioning at all.  GOODBYE formula!!!  We started milk out of a cup and she never even seemed to miss the bottle.

Daddy snuggling with his girls

8/4- On a stormy evening, we braved the weather and headed to meet the Harrises and Crosswhites at La Carreta, one of our favorite spots to eat in Tupelo.

The Harrises were not going to be able to come to EB's party, so they gave her an early birthday present.

The Harrises (Ashley, Jennifer, and Kenzie), us, and the Crosswhites (Brad, Angie, Emily, and Hunter)

8/6- One more pic from her first birthday party.  Eva Brooke weighed in at 21 lb 8 oz (50th percentile) at her twelve month appointment.  She is also 31 1/4 inches tall.  This is 97th percentile for height!

8/7- EB was excited to have some of her leftover birthday party lasagna for lunch the next day.  I mean, where do you even start cleaning up this mess?!

She also "helps" with the laundry.  Here she is putting one of Cotton's toys in the dryer.  She also will put in clothes that have not yet been washed.

Again, she loves to carry around things that are really too big for her.

The day after her party, she was enthralled by all her new toys.  I think the dessert bites of birthday cake also added to her excitement.

She is really getting into TV these days.  She claps, can point the remote, and dances to the tunes (especially WTVA news jingles).

The toy magnets on the magna doodle can also double as pacifiers!

Likes to stand and walk on things.

Clapping with TV

8/9- And clapping again...  She loves the songs on the Veggie Tales movie Beth gave her for her birthday.

I love this silly girl!

8/10- Bringing me her toy

Our little musician has really played some tunes with her gift from the Harrises.  She will blow (but rarely talk) into the microphone.

8/12- And again, pushing buttons on the printer.  The poor printer.  I love that guilty little face.

I love that peek-a-boo still makes her laugh hysterically!

8/19-  Playing with the shopping cart from Momma Lyn and Daddy Don.  Right now she can only push it in a straight line.  This requires one of us to follow her and turn the buggy or she runs full speed into whatever.  She also likes to put things in the cart.  I love finding EB's pacis, shoes, and random toys in such odd locations (laundry basket, Cotton's bed, Cotton's toy basket, etc).

8/23- Watering plants with Daddy

She heads right toward the faucet!

Such a hard worker...

8/24- This was the day I peeked in her room to see if she was napping and saw clothing that I had not put on her.  I was quite confused a minute, until I realized there was some folded laundry on the ottoman, that she must have reached through and pulled in with her.  She keeps me on my toes!  She wakes up in such a cheerful mood, just like her Mommy! :-)

We are pointing at everything and everyone, at home and in public.  Usually this is at odd looking things or people, or in other words, the things that she shouldn't!

She is still very attached to that pillow!

8/27- We turned EB's carseat around!  This girl is forward facing!  We went for a little ride to see how she liked it.

It didn't take her long to warm up to the new positioning and all the legroom.

Daddy even turned on the DVD player, and she has been hooked ever since.  Every time we get in the car, she points and grunts for us to turn on her TV.

8/31- Eva Brooke loves riding her new tricycle from Mimi and Pop, and sometimes she even takes her toys and animals for a ride (she pushes).  She is truly growing and changing everyday!
