Our beautiful Eva Brooke has arrived!

8 pounds 3 ounces
19 inches long
We are some very proud parents!
So here's the story...
On Tuesday (August 10), I was MORE than ready for my girl to be here. I had to take the Alero in for an estimate at Allstate (thank you, hit-and-run offender), and then went on and did my Wal-Mart and Sam's shopping. With all my pregnancy poise and grace, I managed to stub my little toe on the shopping cart and bled all over my flip-flop. I had to ask for a band-aid from my friends at the Sam's pharmacy, only to discover I couldn't reach my toe to put it on :) Linda (Andrew's mom), Andrew, and I all went to eat at Margaritas Grill that evening. I'd been having some BH contractions for several days, but when we got home, these contractions felt a little different. Maybe what they say about spicy foods and labor is true! We called the on-call doctor and ended up going on to the hospital around midnight.
Sweet Andrew was rushing and a tad nervous as I was checking off my packing list. We texted when we left, but apparently everyone was asleep- ha! Our parents came on in the middle of the night (thanks guys). The labor went pretty fast, which meant I didn't get my epidural until almost too late! I won't elaborate on the pain (incredibly horribly awful), but I have no earthly idea how you tough people do it without one.
I had the best nurses and doctors and support by my side. At 4:58 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, our precious baby girl was born.
We weren't sure they really would let us take her home, since we were so clueless about babies! Here is Andrew changing the first diaper.
It is truly amazing how you can love someone so much. I carried this girl around for 9 months, and she's really here! We are so thankful for a good pregnancy, safe delivery, and healthy baby girl. We are blessed beyond measure!
