Happy Birthday Mimi!

Well, I am embarrassed that I let this happen.  My camera battery was dead on the day we celebrated Mimi's birthday (yes, that was back in January).  I realized that we had taken no pictures.  Not her, not the cake, presents...nothing.  Please forgive me.  I will try not to let this kind of thing happen again (especially for blogging/scrapbooking purposes).

Daddy's Girl

I couldn't ask for a more loving, caring, hard-working husband (And great pharmacist.  And MBA student. And aspiring chef), who also doubles (or triples, or even quadruples) as the most wonderful Daddy.  Wow, we're so very blessed.  Thank you, Andrew, for everything you do for our family.

Eva Brooke sure does love her Daddy!  Why wouldn't she?  Look at all the fun they've been having.

Since I found Eva Brooke like THIS (see below) after her nap, we decided it was time to lower the crib (sigh...).

We have all been sick with the crud, so they were good sports for a quick photo session.  This was Eva Brooke's first time to be sick and we hope the last for a while!!

Eva Brooke is something else these days, I tell you.  You can just almost "see" her learn and develop.  She's not crawling yet, but creeping/scooting?  Yes!  Put that paci just out of reach and that girl can move!

6 Month Pictures

Whew...I won't lie.  Getting 6 month pictures made pulling teeth seem like it would be a breeze.  Her silly Mama scheduled them the day after her 6 month check-up.  Seriously though, I am usually not in the photogenic mood either after getting FOUR shots and some sort of drops.  However, we are blessed to have a happy healthy baby girl.  At 6 months, Eva Brooke weighs 17 pounds, 3 ounces (75th percentile) and is 27 inches long (90th percentile).  She is up 9 pounds and 8 inches since birth!  She is growing like a rose (credit to Mrs. June Keith, who said a rose is much prettier than a weed) and somehow continues to get more and more beautiful!  Ok, so maybe I'm a little biased...

We headed to get pictures right after stopping at Midnite Pottery to get handprints and footprints done.  Wow, 6 months is a busy (and expensive) milestone.  I guess I did push her a little more than I should have.  That is my personality, to want to get everything done and over with...right now!  But she might be more like her Daddy! :)

Jared and Kelsey at Main Street Photography in Winfield, Alabama, are some good friends I've known since college and are absolutely WONDERFUL to work with.  Eva Brooke at all sessions has been less than excited about being posed and positioned to our liking.  They have wayyy more patience that I do and never seem to rush us along.  Did I mention they are AWESOME photographers?

Valentine's Day

On February 10, I relived my inner little girl and played dress-up with my Eva Brooke 

On February 14, we did, what else, but go to the dentist!  We still use my childhood dentist, Dr. McDonald, in Amory.  And you just can't go to Amory without stopping by Bill's Hamburgers.  This was Eva Brooke's first visit to Bill's!

Eva Brooke was so very excited about her books we gave her for Valentine's Day.  She really likes the shiny red heart on the book she is touching in this picture.

Sunday School

On Sunday, January 30, Eva Brooke made her Sunday School debut.  The older babies moved up this day to the next class.  Since Eva Brooke had just started sitting up, I thought this would be a great time to start taking her.  She was very well-behaved and loved it!  Mrs. Mary does a great job teaching.  She gives them (sterilized) taped-up Bibles and toys to keep their little hands busy.  Eva Brooke took a toy away from Charlie (next to her)...maybe this will help teach her about sharing, too!

The boys really outnumber the girls in this age group.  I can think of at least two more boys.  The only other girl was just born in December.

We have such a good group of babies (and mommies), and I am so grateful.  We feel very blessed to be a part of such a wonderful church family!
